NDLEA Arrests Elderly Drug Dealers in Nationwide Crackdown

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested multiple suspects in a nationwide crackdown on illicit drug trafficking, including two elderly individuals. On April 28, 2026, 83-year-old Pa John Ofiel and 78-year-old Ogunjobi Samuel were apprehended in separate operations in Aba, Abia State, and Ekiti State, respectively.

Ofiel was found with 700 grams of skunk cannabis, while Samuel had 350 grams of a psychoactive substance. Other arrests included 49-year-old Taofik Adeyemi in Oyo State, who was caught with 3.085 kilograms of skunk, and 65-year-old Oladayo Awoyemi, who was apprehended with 7 kilograms of skunk and 15 grams of methamphetamine.

The NDLEA also seized significant quantities of tramadol and other drugs in various operations across states, including Borno and Edo. The agency continues its efforts to combat drug abuse and trafficking nationwide.
