Shettima Welcomes Governor Lawal to APC in Zamfara

On Tuesday, Kashim Shettima, the Vice President of Nigeria, arrived in Zamfara to formally receive Governor Dauda Lawal into the All Progressives Congress (APC). This event followed Governor Lawal's defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP), which he announced after extensive consultations with party leaders and stakeholders across the state.

The formal reception took place at the Gusau Trade Fair Complex, where thousands of supporters gathered to welcome Lawal into the APC fold. The event was attended by several governors from various states, including Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), and Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri (Adamawa), among others.

The Vice President's presence represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the event. Governor Lawal's decision to defect was described as a significant political development for Zamfara State, with implications for stability and progress in the region.
