Lawal's APC Defection Promises Development for Zamfara

Governor Dauda Lawal's recent defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been welcomed as a positive development for Zamfara State by Dr. Abdullahi Shinkafi, a chieftain of the APC. In a statement made during a party support meeting in Gusau, Shinkafi highlighted that Lawal's decision to join the APC is a significant achievement that will help ensure the party's success in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

He noted that the APC is a large family in Zamfara and emphasized the importance of collaboration among stakeholders, particularly with former Governor Abdul Aziz Yari, who has established a strong political structure within the party.
