Anambra First Lady Dr Nonye Soludo Empowers 5,000 Residents

On September 24, Dr Nonye Soludo, the First Lady of Anambra State, empowered 5,000 residents with equipment, working tools, and entrepreneurial cash support at the Light House in Awka. This initiative aims to build sustainable development and strengthen economic independence among the beneficiaries, which included youth and the elderly.

Items distributed included baking equipment, sewing machines, hair dryers, and cash. Dr Soludo emphasized the importance of economic inclusion and the belief that investing in people is investing in the future.

The empowerment program, themed “Onye Aghana Nwanne Ya” (Be your brother’s keeper), involved a thorough selection process to ensure support reached those in genuine need. She urged beneficiaries to utilize the items productively and to train others, establishing a monitoring mechanism to ensure compliance.

This event followed an initial empowerment effort that began on September 10, which could not be completed at that time.
