Anambra Governor’s Wife Praises First Lady’s Initiatives

Chinwe Onuigbo, the wife of Anambra State Governor Dr Nonye Soludo, commended Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her initiatives supporting women, children, and youths in Anambra under the Renewed Hope Initiative. This commendation occurred during an empowerment program in Awka, where 5,000 individuals received equipment and inputs to enhance their livelihoods, including barbing and hairdressing tools, sewing machines, fish fingerlings, and livestock.

Onuigbo also acknowledged the First Lady's efforts in empowering 500 women and establishing a food bank aimed at reducing hunger and malnutrition among vulnerable families in the state and the Southeast. She urged mothers to register at Primary Health Centres for healthcare services.

Dr Bernard Doro, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, described the food bank initiative as a significant intervention against hunger and malnutrition, which would also bolster local agriculture. Goodwill messages from Dr Oladipo Olusi and Dr Muyi Aina further praised the First Lady's programs aimed at improving livelihoods.
