Reps Committee Criticized Over PIA Implementation Claims, NDARPN Rejects Allegations

The House of Representatives Committee faced criticism over alleged misleading claims on the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA). The Niger Delta Account Resource Protect Network (NDARPN) rejected accusations of the South South Development Commission (SSDC) failing to implement the PIA fund, denying a reported deprivation of the region of 1 trillion naira.

Ebikabo West, the president of NDARPN, refuted the committee's assertions and emphasized the importance of respecting regulatory bodies and ensuring transparency in the implementation process. West warned lawmakers against making political statements and highlighted the need for evidence-based oversight to rebuild confidence in the oil sector.
