NDLEA Warns Parents After N5.8bn Drug Bust in Lagos

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has issued a warning to parents and guardians to be vigilant regarding suspicious sachets found in homes. This alert follows the agency's seizure of illicit drugs valued at N5.8 billion from a mansion in Lekki, Lagos, identified as a stash house.

The operation took place over the weekend, and the agency's spokesman, Femi Babafemi, disclosed that the recovered substances were packaged in various colors and designs that resemble sweet snacks, potentially targeting young people. The NDLEA emphasized the growing trend of narcotic packaging designed to attract children and teenagers, urging parents to check their homes for any suspicious items and to seek help if necessary.

The agency has repeatedly raised concerns about this alarming trend, which aims to lure youth into drug abuse.
