Lagos Police Arrest 'Obi of Lagos' Impostor Planning ₦1.5b Palace Unveiling

The Lagos State Police Command arrested Chibuike Azubike, who allegedly posed as the 'Obi of Lagos,' along with three accomplices planning a ₦1.5 billion palace unveiling ceremony in Festac Town. The group intended to unveil a prototype of the purported palace on September 13, 2025.

Acting on intelligence, the police swiftly intervened to prevent any breach of peace. The suspects, including Chief Chibuzor Ani, Chief Martins Nwaodika, and Ikechukwu Franklin Nnadi, are currently in custody.

The Police spokesperson, DSP Babasuyi Oluseyi, confirmed the arrests and ongoing investigations. Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, cautioned the public against falling for such schemes.
