Tinubu's Historic State Visit to the UK with Royals

On Wednesday, Bola Tinubu, the President of Nigeria, embarked on a historic state visit to the United Kingdom, marking the first state visit by a leader from Africa's most populous nation in nearly four decades. The visit commenced with a ceremonial welcome at Windsor Castle, where King Charles III and Queen Camilla greeted Tinubu and his wife, Oluremi Tinubu.

The event featured a traditional artillery salute and a carriage ride through Windsor. During the visit, Tinubu inspected a guard of honor and later attended a state banquet where he emphasized the importance of renewing trade and diplomatic relations between Nigeria and the UK.

He announced that Nigerian companies, including banks, would expand operations in Britain, potentially creating hundreds of jobs. The trade between the two nations is projected to reach £11 billion by September 2025, reflecting a 11.4% year-on-year increase.

Tinubu is also scheduled to meet British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and participate in a religious service at Lambeth Palace.
