Pillars Defeat Tornadoes 3-2 for Ogunmodede's First Win

On Sunday, Kano Pillars achieved their first victory under the management of coach Daniel Ogunmodede, edging out Niger Tornadoes 3-2 in a thrilling Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano. The match saw Ubong Friday score the opening goal in the 40th minute, followed by Fabian Nworie, who doubled the lead in first-half stoppage time.

Nworie added a third goal for Pillars in the 54th minute, giving them a commanding 3-0 advantage. Niger Tornadoes responded with a goal from Godfrey Joseph in the 73rd minute, and substitute Wasiu Jimoh scored in the 90th minute to narrow the gap.

Despite the late efforts from Tornadoes, Pillars held on to secure all three points, marking Ogunmodede's first win since taking charge of the club, following a draw in his debut match against Kwara the previous week.
