Pillars Triumph 3-2 Over Niger Tornadoes in Thriller
In their first home game of the season, Pillars overcame a late challenge from Niger Tornadoes to win 3-2. Ubong Friday opened the scoring in the 40th minute, followed by Fabian Nworie, who scored twice, including a goal in first-half stoppage time, giving Pillars a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Nworie completed his brace in the 54th minute, extending the lead to 3-0. However, Niger Tornadoes responded with a goal from Obalowu Nafiu in the 72nd minute and another from Wasiu Jimoh in the 90th minute, making the final moments tense.
Despite the pressure, Pillars managed to secure all three points, marking their first victory of the season after a 2-2 draw against Kwara United in their previous match. Other matches included Barau FC's goalless draw with Kun Khalifat and narrow wins for Plateau United and Nasarawa United.
