Plateau State Arraigns Four Over Angwa Rukuba Attacks

On Thursday, the Plateau State government arraigned four suspects arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) in connection with the Angwa Rukuba attacks that occurred in April 2025, leading to the deaths of 30 individuals. The suspects, identified as Isa Umar Ibrahim, Auwalu Abubakar, Musa Abubakar Ibrahim, and Adamu Isa Alhassan, were brought before Justice Danladi Longden in Jos.

They face multiple charges, including criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, illegal possession of firearms, and illegal dealing in arms and ammunition. The arraignment followed their arrests on April 3 and April 10, 2026.

The Plateau State Attorney General, Philemon Audu Daffi, is leading the prosecution. The court has remanded the defendants in DSS custody pending further hearings, with the next court date set for April 30, 2026.

The attacks have raised significant concerns regarding security in Plateau State, prompting a visit from President Bola Tinubu earlier this month to assure justice for the victims.
