Plateau Governor Orders Crackdown on Killings, Roadblocks

Following an emergency security council meeting held at the Government House in Plateau State, Governor Caleb Mutfwang has ordered an immediate crackdown on killings and illegal roadblocks. This decision comes in response to a surge in violent incidents over the past two weeks, including a tragedy at a mining site in Wase, which resulted in multiple fatalities.

Governor Mutfwang expressed condolences to the families affected and condemned the killings, particularly in the Dorowa community, where innocent travelers were attacked. He emphasized that security agencies must ensure the perpetrators are apprehended and warned against lawlessness.

The governor announced that unauthorized roadblocks on highways would no longer be tolerated, and any such blockages would be removed. He also criticized individuals spreading false narratives about insecurity in Plateau State, asserting that the state is generally peaceful.

Mutfwang praised the efforts of security operatives and promised continued support to improve their response capabilities.
