Plateau Governor Addresses Rising Killings in Security Meeting

On Wednesday, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang convened an expanded state security council meeting with local government chairmen and heads of security agencies to address the alarming rise in killings across the state. The meeting, disclosed by the governor's Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, was part of efforts to strengthen peace and coexistence in the region.

Recent attacks reportedly left at least 50 people dead in various communities over the past week. The meeting, held at the Government House, aimed to review the security situation and outline strategies to prevent further attacks.

Bassei Ewah, the Commissioner of Police for Plateau State Command, emphasized the need for strict compliance with a curfew from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, warning that violators would face prosecution. The governor reiterated that the situation in the state remains calm and urged residents to support ongoing security efforts.

Local government chairmen, represented by Hamisu Anani, committed to developing strategies tailored to local realities to effectively tackle insecurity.
