Plateau State Imposes Curfew After Deadly Attacks

The Plateau State Government announced a 48-hour curfew in Jos North Local Government Area due to deadly security incidents that left several people dead and others injured in the Gari Ya Way community, specifically in Angwan Rukuba. The curfew will commence at midnight on March 29, 2026, and will remain in effect until April 1, 2026.

The announcement was made in conjunction with security agencies and was signed by Rt. Hon.

Joyc Lohya Ramnap, the Commissioner for Information. Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang condemned the attacks, describing them as barbaric and unprovoked.

He assured residents that security agencies have been directed to take necessary measures to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice. The government urged the public to remain calm, stay vigilant, and cooperate with security agencies while providing information to assist ongoing investigations.

The government reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
