Plateau State Imposes Curfew After Deadly Jos North Attack

In response to a violent attack in Jos North, Plateau State, the state government has imposed a 48-hour curfew effective from midnight on March 29, 2026, until April 1, 2026. The decision was announced by Joyc Ramnap, the state commissioner, following reports of an attack that occurred around 7:30 PM, where assailants on motorcycles invaded the community, firing indiscriminately and causing panic among residents.

The attack, described as barbaric and unprovoked, resulted in the loss of several lives and left others with varying degrees of injuries. The Plateau State Government, in conjunction with security agencies, has urged the public to remain calm and vigilant, cooperating fully with security personnel as investigations continue to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
