Plateau Governor Mutfwang Addresses Security Challenges

Caleb Mutfwang, the Governor of Plateau State, expressed his administration's commitment to tackling the current security challenges in the state during a visit to the Senior Course 48 of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Jaji, Kaduna State, on Tuesday. He condemned the resurgence of attacks in peaceful communities, describing the security challenges as acts of terror that have resulted in the loss of lives and livelihoods, particularly for farmers.

Mutfwang commended the military's efforts in addressing these security issues but called for drastic measures to confront the challenges of insecurity, which he stated are directly correlated with the state's poverty index. He highlighted that the ongoing insecurity prevents ordinary farmers from accessing their farms, perpetuating poverty.

The governor urged the military to adopt both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches to effectively tackle the security challenges and promised continued support for military and security agencies to ensure peace in Plateau State.
