High-Profile Footballers Available as Free Agents

Several notable footballers are currently available as free agents following contract terminations. Paul Pogba, 33, became a free agent after Monaco terminated his contract last month, one year before its expiration.

He joined Monaco last summer after an 18-month doping ban but only made six appearances due to injuries. Karim Benzema, 38, terminated his contract with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal on August 31, after joining the club six months prior from Al-Ittihad, where he had made three appearances this season.

The arrival of new players at Al-Hilal may have influenced his departure. Raheem Sterling, 31, is also seeking a new club after being released by Feyenoord following a brief three-month stint.

Other notable free agents include Riyad Mahrez, 35, who left Al-Ahli, and Jadon Sancho, 26, who is without a club after a turbulent period at Manchester United. Dani Carvajal, 34, has been without a club since his Real Madrid contract expired in June.
