Ogun Police Arrest 89 Drivers for Number Plate Violations

The Ogun State Police Command arrested 89 drivers for violating regulations regarding vehicle number plates, as part of a crackdown directed by Inspector General of Police Tunji Disu. The operation aims to address the issue of vehicles operating without registered number plates, which poses a threat to national security.

The arrests were made during a nationwide enforcement exercise, with appropriate legal actions planned against the offenders. Additionally, two armed robbery suspects, Abdulsalam Adam and Israel Salako, were apprehended during operations in the state.

The police recovered stolen vehicles and other items during these efforts. Ogun State Police spokesperson DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi emphasized the importance of compliance with vehicle registration laws and urged the public to remain vigilant.

The police will continue to implement strategies to enhance public safety and prevent crime in the region.
