Oyo Police Launch Crackdown on Fake Vehicle Plates

The Oyo State Police Command announced the commencement of a statewide enforcement operation on Thursday, aimed at addressing issues related to unmarked vehicles and those displaying fake or obscured number plates. This initiative, articulated by spokesperson Olayinka Ayanlade, is designed to ensure strict compliance with vehicle identification standards and to enhance overall public safety and security within the state.

The enforcement action is part of ongoing efforts to combat violent crime and improve the security environment. Individuals found violating these directives will be promptly arrested, and their vehicles or motorcycles will be impounded in accordance with existing laws and operational procedures.

Additionally, the command will conduct intermittent stop-and-search operations, intelligence-led patrols, and coordinated raids in identified crime hotspots across the state.
