Peller's Four-Day Detention Without Food or Bath

Peller shared his experience of being held in a police cell for nearly four days without access to food or bathing facilities following his arrest on July 2. He and his friend, Bello Oladipo, were apprehended by the Lagos State Police Command along the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road for allegedly driving a vehicle without a number plate.

They were later arraigned in a magistrate court on July 9, facing three charges, including resisting arrest and obstructing a police officer in the performance of their duties. During his time in custody, Peller described the conditions as humiliating, stating he was unable to bathe and was made to look "ugly." He humorously noted that fellow inmates referred to him as "001" and recounted the lack of food and basic hygiene during his detention, emphasizing the severity of his ordeal.
