Police Arrest 42 Illegal Miners, Rescue Abducted Monarch's Brother

The Kwara State Police, led by Mr. Adekimi Ojo, confirmed the arrest of 42 illegal miners in connection with the abduction of Oba Salman Aweda Olayinka's brother.

The incident occurred in Ifelodun Local Government Area, where the monarch's brother was kidnapped by armed terrorists on a Saturday. The kidnappers had previously demanded money from the miners, who had paid a royalty earlier that day.

After the abduction, the police utilized drone logistics to locate and rescue the victim, who had been taken into the bush. The police are currently investigating whether any of the arrested miners were involved in the kidnapping.

The police headquarters in Ilorin is handling the case, and it was reported that the abducted brother was forced to leave without his slippers, indicating the urgency of the situation.
