Police Arrest Bandit Leader Ali Bahago in Zamfara

The Nigerian Police Force arrested notorious bandit leader Ali Bahago and several of his lieutenants, including Hassan Dan Kure and Dahiru Lawali, in Zamfara. The arrests were made based on credible intelligence regarding their involvement in armed robbery, banditry, and other violent crimes in the area.

The operation took place in the Kasuwan Daji community, where the suspects were already on a watchlist. Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects belong to an armed criminal gang allegedly led by Bahago, which is linked to several criminal activities locally.

During the operation, police recovered various weapons, including one pump-action gun, one single-barrel gun, a fabric G3 rifle, two Dane guns, four rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, nine pump-action cartridges, a handcuff chain, and a locally made pistol. The suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue, and the police have urged residents to provide credible information to aid in tracking down other gang members.
