Suspected Ritualist Saheed Babalola Arrested for Mutilation

Saheed Babalola was arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force for allegedly desecrating the corpse of an 18-year-old girl in Feesu community, near Iwo, Osun State. The girl, who lived in the same house as Babalola, died an unnatural death on October 11 and was buried the same day.
On October 12, Babalola, along with two unidentified accomplices, allegedly returned to the burial site, exhumed the corpse, and severed its head and wrist. Residents, alerted by strange noises, apprehended Babalola while his accomplices fled.
He was handed over to the police, and Abiodun Ojelabi, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Osun Police Command, confirmed that Babalola was cooperating with the investigation. The police recovered the severed head and wrist, and Babalola was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
