Delta Police Arrest Three Drug Traffickers, Seize Drugs

On June 3, 2026, the Delta State Police Command conducted an operation that led to the arrest of three suspected drug traffickers and the recovery of significant quantities of illicit drugs. The operation, part of a sustained effort to disrupt drug trafficking networks, was executed by the Special Inquiry Unit.

Officers intercepted a Mercedes truck with registration number KRV 837 ZN, driven by Obinna Nwosu, 47, from Oba Idemili South Local Government Area in Anambra State, which was reportedly transporting plumbing materials. A meticulous search revealed 13,000 sachets of 100mg tramadol, 100 sachets of 225mg tramadol, 300 sachets of rohypnol, 60 sachets of codeine phosphate tablets, and 100 tablets of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), commonly known as molly.

The suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue to identify other members of the trafficking network. Delta State Police Commissioner Yemi Oyeniyi commended the operation and urged public cooperation to dismantle criminal networks.
