Gombe Police Arrest Two for Murder of Officer's Wife

The Gombe State Police Command arrested two suspects, Muhammad Bashir Sale, 20, and Musa Sale Ahmad, 18, in connection with the armed robbery and killing of Aishatu Salisu, the wife of Inspector Salisu Waziri, on September 26, 2026. The attack took place at approximately 4:35 am at their residence in Wuro Shie Quarters.

The assailants, armed with machetes and cutlasses, attempted to rob Mrs. Salisu of her mobile phone. During the incident, she raised an alarm, prompting one of the attackers to stab her with a machete.

Following the attack, she was rushed to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe, where she was pronounced dead. The police initiated an investigation and arrested the suspects, who confessed to their involvement.

A sharp knife was recovered as evidence. The case is under investigation by the State Criminal Investigation Department, with CP Umar Ahmed Chuso directing a thorough inquiry to ensure justice.
