Bauchi Police Arrest Two Armed Robbery Suspects

The Bauchi State Police Command arrested two suspected armed robbers, Abdulshakur Adamu, 20, and Rabiu Usman, 21, after a robbery incident in Birshi Gandu. The arrest followed a distress report from four residents who reported that three armed men invaded their compound, which includes Cozy Resort Hotel, on October 17, 2026.

The robbers, armed with knives and machetes, stole valuables worth millions of naira, including Samsung Galaxy S22 and S23 phones, iPhones, a Lenovo laptop, and other items. A coordinated operation involving police operatives from E-Division Yelwa and community members led to the suspects' apprehension after tracking one of the stolen phones.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed and revealed they conspired with an accomplice, Kabiru, who remains at large. The police recovered several stolen items, including three smartphones and a knife.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation, with the Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, commending community cooperation in crime prevention.
