Police Investigate Disappearance of Benue Seminarian

The Benue State Police Command is treating the disappearance of seminarian Kelvin Ochai, who is attached to the Catholic Bishop’s residence in Otukpo, as a missing person case. This decision comes amid conflicting reports suggesting he was abducted by gunmen.

DSP Peter Aondona, the police spokesperson, clarified that the police have not received any official report confirming an abduction. He explained that the seminarian went out to take a bath and did not return, leading to concerns about his whereabouts.

Aondona mentioned that there were rumors of an attempted abduction two weeks prior, but these claims were not substantiated by any official report. Kelvin Ochai was reported missing on the night of Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
