13 Killed in Attack on Efeyi Community, Benue State

The Benue State Police Command confirmed that 13 individuals were killed in an attack on Efeyi community in Ugboju, Otukpo Local Government Area, on Tuesday. Police Public Relations Officer Edet Udeme stated that the attack occurred early in the morning when heavily armed assailants invaded the community, opening fire on residents.

In response, police tactical teams and other security agencies have been deployed to the area to restore normalcy and prevent further violence. The police reported that 13 bodies have been recovered, and several residents sustained injuries, with the injured receiving medical attention at the time of the report.

The attack has caused many families to flee their homes for safety. Local sources indicated that the attackers left behind significant destruction in the community.
