Lagos Police Crack Down on Fake Kidnapping Scams in Nigeria

The Lagos State Police Command has intensified efforts to combat fake kidnapping scams in Lagos, Nigeria, by closely monitoring social media platforms. Several incidents of staged kidnappings have been uncovered, leading to fear and ransom payments.

The police have arrested five suspects, including a 15-year-old boy, involved in orchestrating fake kidnappings for extortion. Victims were found to have staged their own abductions with the help of accomplices.
