Police Deploy 7,825 Personnel for Monitoring in Edo

The Edo Police Command has deployed 7,825 personnel to monitor the upcoming elections in the state. The deployment aims to prevent any interference, disruption, or breach of peace during the electoral process.

The personnel are drawn from Zone 5 Headquarters, Edo State Command Police Mobile Force, Special Intervention Squad, and Election Monitoring Team from the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja. The Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, has appealed to the public to comply with the restrictions on movement imposed from midnight on Friday, August 15, to Saturday, August 16, to ensure a safe and peaceful environment for the elections.

Valid identification will be required for passage during this period. The massive deployment is intended to provide adequate security and maintain law and order during the elections.
