Police Deploy Personnel Ahead Of Ogun By-Election

The Ogun State Police Command has deployed personnel in preparation for the North Federal Constituency by-election scheduled for August 16, 2025. Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the deployment in a statement in Abeokuta on Friday.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, has charged officers to conduct themselves with professionalism, civility, and neutrality during the poll. The command is working with other security agencies and has additional manpower from Zone 2 Command in Lagos to prevent violence and ensure the safety of the exercise.

Odutola warned voters to adhere to electoral laws and prohibited campaign activities at polling units. Movement in the election area will be restricted on the election day, with patrol vehicles and operational teams strategically deployed to guarantee a smooth exercise.

The command appeals for cooperation from voters and warns troublemakers to stay away from polling units or face decisive action.
