INEC Distributes Sensitive Materials, Trains 2,445 Officers for Ogun By-election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has distributed sensitive materials and trained 2,445 officers in preparation for the Ogun State by-election on August 15. The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs. Saseyi Feyijimi, oversaw the movement of ballot papers and result sheets to various local government areas, ensuring transparency and security.

Three political parties are contesting the election, with Feyijimi emphasizing the need for a fair and credible exercise. INEC is working with security agencies and political party representatives to prevent malpractice, with consequences for anyone caught engaging in such activities.

The commission is also collaborating with the National Orientation Agency to educate residents on the voting process. INEC is committed to ensuring fairness, openness, and transparency in conducting the poll, with backup measures in place to guarantee a smooth election process.
