Police and EFCC Rescue 14 Victims from Sea Pirates

The Nigerian Police Force, in collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), rescued 14 victims who were abducted by sea pirates along the Calabar-Oron waterways. This operation was driven by credible intelligence and involved strong inter-agency collaboration, leading to the safe recovery of the victims without harm.

The Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, commended the joint security team's success, describing it as a testament to effective coordination and intelligence-led operations. The operation comes at a time when Nigeria has seen a significant decline in piracy, earning a piracy-free status largely attributed to sustained government naval operations.

However, the recent attack raises fresh concerns about security along the nation's waterways. The rescued victims are currently undergoing medical evaluation and debriefing before being reunited with their families.
