Sokoto Police Foil Cattle Rustling Attempt, Recover Firearm and Livestock

The Sokoto State Police Command prevented a cattle rustling incident in Goronyo Local Government Area, recovering a firearm, ammunition, and stolen livestock during a joint security operation. The operation was initiated following a distress call from residents of Tajay Village.

The police, in collaboration with the Anti-Kidnap Unit and State Criminal Investigation Department, tracked the suspects to the outskirts of Kola Village in Gwadabawa. A shootout ensued, resulting in the suspects fleeing, leaving behind stolen livestock and a recovered AK-47 rifle with live ammunition.

The police commended the successful operation and emphasized the importance of community collaboration in combating crime. Commissioner of Police, Ahm Musa, assured residents of ongoing efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
