Oyo Police Arrest Four Suspects in Cattle Rustling Case

On March 13, 2026, the Oyo State Police Command successfully foiled a cattle rustling operation, arresting four suspects in the Ado-Away area. The suspects, identified as Sekooni Wale (30), Jimoh Toheeb (25), Moshood Abdullahi (38), and Macho Sindi (29), were apprehended after police received a distress report about armed hoodlums invading a camp.

Upon arrival, the police discovered the suspects loading stolen cattle into a Mazda bus with registration number KMA 178 ZY. The suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled into the bush when approached by the police.

A coordinated manhunt led to the arrest of Wale and Toheeb, while Abdullahi, a notorious cattle rustler from Badagry, was apprehended later. The operation resulted in the recovery of the stolen cattle and underscored the critical role of community collaboration in maintaining security.

State Commissioner of Police Femi Haruna commended the swift response of local security partners.
