JTF Foils Cattle Rustling in Kano, Recovers 257 Livestock

The Joint Task Force (JTF) in Kano, led by troops from the 3 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, successfully foiled a cattle rustling attempt in Mainika Village, Gwarzo Local Government Area, Kano State. The operation was initiated following a distress call, prompting a swift deployment of JTF troops.

They successfully ambushed and engaged a group of armed bandits who had earlier rustled cattle from the area. The bandits, upon encountering the JTF troops, fled in disarray towards Malumfashi Local Government Area in Katsina State, abandoning the rustled animals.

The JTF troops recovered a total of 257 livestock, which included 135 cows, 119 sheep, one goat, and two donkeys, returning them to their rightful owners. Major Babatunde Zubairu, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, issued a statement commending the bravery and gallantry of the troops, whose morale remains high.

Brigadier General Ahmad Tukur, the commander of the 3 Brigade, also appreciated the continuous support from the local community, which provides vital information leading to successful operations.
