Nigerian Police Foil Robbery Attempt in Abuja, Arrest Suspect

The Nigerian Police Force in the Federal Capital Territory Command successfully prevented an armed robbery incident in Abuja's Kado area on January 23, 2026. Following a distress call, the police swiftly responded to reports of armed robbers attacking motorists near an area fuel station.

The police team, led by Josephin Adeh, engaged with three suspects, resulting in one suspect sustaining gunshot injuries and being taken to a nearby hospital. The suspect's accomplices managed to flee, but the police recovered various items at the scene, including firearms, a vehicle, mobile phones, and personal belongings.
