Four Arrested in Adelabu Family Kidnapping Case

Four suspects were arrested by the Oyo State Police Command in connection with the abduction of Adebayo Adelabu's younger sister and his twin sons, Busayo John Paul, on June 3, 2026. The police launched an intelligence-driven manhunt following the incident, which occurred when the mother was taking her children to school.

The operation, led by Commissioner of Police Abimbola Olugbenga, resulted in the successful rescue of the victims on June 6, 2026, at a hideout in Araromi Quarter, Ayegun North. During the operation, police neutralized an unidentified gang member who opened fire on them.

Further investigations led to the arrest of two additional suspects, Semiu Ishola and Adeyemi Ayobami, who allegedly facilitated the gang's activities. Items recovered included three pump-action rifles, live cartridges, and other materials linked to the crime.

The police urged the public to report any suspicious activities to aid in crime prevention.
