Nigerian Police Intercept 300 Rounds of Ammunition in Contraband Seizure

The Nigerian Police Force intercepted 300 rounds of 9mm ammunition concealed in a pickup truck in Lagos, Nigeria. The seizure also included two vehicles, foreign rice, US clothing, vegetable oil, and household goods.

Five suspects, including driver Nelson Peretei, were arrested. Investigations revealed links to a US-based sender, Maria Adeyemi, who allegedly failed to declare the ammunition.

Preliminary findings suggest the intention was to smuggle the contraband. The police are working with customs and DSS to determine the source and destination of the items, potentially uncovering a criminal network.
