FCT Police Arrest Suspect with Forged Presidency Plate

On October 20, 2026, at approximately 8:00 p.m., operatives of the FCT Police Command intercepted a Lexus LX570 SUV in Maitama District, Federal Capital Territory, due to a concealed number plate. The vehicle bore the inscription "PRESIDENCY" and the registration number 10B218 FG.
The occupant was arrested for investigation and potential prosecution. Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect claimed to be the legitimate holder of the number plate; however, further inquiries revealed that the registration documents were forged.
The suspect was found to be impersonating a Permanent Secretary attached to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. Ongoing investigations are set to conclude with the suspect being charged in court.
The FCT Police Command urged residents to remain law-abiding and report any suspicious activities.
