Ogun Police Neutralize Kidnappers, Rescue Abducted Prince

The Ogun State Police Command's anti-kidnap unit successfully neutralized two kidnapping suspects and recovered an AK-47 rifle during an operation aimed at rescuing a prince abducted from Okun Owa on June 30, 2026, at 7:30 PM. The operation, led by Olusayo Babaseyi, followed a directive from the Commissioner of Police to intensify efforts for the victim's release.

The prince was safely released on July 3, 2026, after sustained pressure on the kidnappers. Following the rescue, the police intensified their efforts to track down the remaining suspects.

During the operation, the suspects opened fire on the police, leading to their neutralization. The police recovered an empty magazine, two mobile phones, and a bag linked to the ransom.

Bode Ojajuni, a representative of the Ogun State Police Command, commended the anti-kidnap unit and tactical team for their courage and professionalism, reaffirming the command's commitment to dismantling criminal networks in the state.
