Kaduna Police Neutralize Bandits, Recover 30 Firearms

The Kaduna State Police Command conducted a successful operation over two weeks, neutralizing bandits and recovering 30 firearms as part of efforts to combat banditry, kidnapping, and illegal arms proliferation. Police Commissioner Rabiu Muhammad disclosed during a press briefing that the operation targeted identified bandit camps and criminal hideouts in the Kajuru, Tafa, Igabi, and Kauru local government areas.

The operation involved fierce exchanges of fire, resulting in the neutralization of bandits, while others escaped with injuries. Additionally, several suspects were arrested, including five alleged gun runners.

The operation also led to the recovery of significant caches of arms, including three English AK-47 rifles, 21 fabric firearms, two English pistols, four locally made pistols, and a large quantity of hard drugs believed to be linked to criminal activities.
