Police and NYSC Enhance Security for Corps Members

The Nigerian Police Force and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have renewed their commitment to enhance the security of corps members across Nigeria. This pledge was made during a courtesy visit by NYSC Director General Brigadier General Olakunle Nafi'u to the Inspector General of Police, Mr.

Olatunji Disu, at the police headquarters in Abuja. Nafi'u congratulated Disu on his appointment and commended the ongoing reforms within the police force.

He emphasized the importance of sustaining collaboration to ensure the safety of corps members, particularly in orientation camps and host communities. Nafi'u raised concerns about the security situation in the country ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging proactive measures to protect corps members and their properties.

He also discussed the need for engagement with the Nigeria Police Academy regarding the issuance of exemption certificates for graduates serving in the armed forces and paramilitary agencies. The Inspector General assured that the police would continue to work closely with NYSC to enhance the security of corps members throughout their service year.
