NYSC Director General Ensures Welfare of Corps Members

Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), reassured Corps members about their welfare and safety during an address to the 2026 Batch Stream II members deployed to Niger State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). He highlighted that the welfare, safety, and security of Corps members are top priorities for NYSC and that there will be no compromise on these aspects.

The address took place at the NYSC camp located in Paiko, Niger State, where he discussed damage caused by a late-night rainstorm. Nafiu convened a team to assess the damage and initiate repairs to affected structures.

He commended the discipline of Corps members and emphasized the importance of fostering national cohesion through relationships formed during service. Additionally, he informed that the 2026 Batch Stream II members would participate as ad hoc staff in the 2027 general elections, receiving requisite training while being cautioned against partisanship.
