Police Officers Detained Over N2.5m Extortion in Delta State

The Delta State Police Command detained officers, including Bright Usman and a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) identified as Jess, over an alleged N2.5m extortion case. A woman accused the officers of demanding money in exchange for releasing her brother, Israel Onojeruo, who was in custody for selling firearms.

The State Anti Cult Unit (SACU) is conducting further investigations. The Command assured that any officer found guilty of misconduct will face disciplinary action.
