Lagos Police Dismiss Extortion Allegations on Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road

The Lagos State Police Command has responded to allegations of extortion on the Lagos-Calabar coastal road, refuting claims circulating on social media. The command dismissed the viral posts alleging that police officers arrested dispatch riders and extorted money from them.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin and SP Abimbola Adebisi clarified that the claims were misleading and not authorized by the police. The police emphasized the importance of verifying information from official sources and warned against spreading misinformation that could undermine public trust.

The Lagos State Government also clarified that its public relations department is separate from the police command. The police urged the public, especially social media users, to verify claims before sharing to avoid confusion and misrepresentation.
