Katsina Police Command Disburses N28m to Fallen Officers' Families

On September 16, 2026, the Katsina State Police Command presented cheques totaling N28,012,584.70 to the families of 25 police officers who died in the line of duty. The presentation was made by Commissioner of Police, CP Ali Umar Fage, at the Command Headquarters in Katsina.

This initiative is part of a welfare package initiated by Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, aimed at supporting the families of officers who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation. During the event, Fage expressed his condolences to the families, describing the fallen officers as “gallant men who served the nation with dedication.” He urged the beneficiaries to utilize the financial assistance judiciously for their immediate needs and future security.

Fage also commended IGP Disu for his commitment to the welfare of serving personnel and the families of deceased officers. Alkasim Salisu, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude for the gesture and assured that the funds would be used wisely.
