Police Investigate Suspicious Parcel to First Bank MD

On May 7, 2026, a suspicious parcel was delivered to the home of the Managing Director of First Bank in Lagos. The parcel contained two rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, which were discovered by bank executives upon opening the package.

The security guard initially received the parcel, and the Managing Director promptly alerted security authorities. Tijani Fatai, the Commissioner of Police, described the incident as a serious security concern and confirmed that an inquiry had commenced to determine the origin of the parcel and identify those responsible.

The police are treating the matter seriously, and no arrests have been made so far. However, they are pursuing several leads, including information provided by a complainant who reportedly identified an individual believed to have knowledge of the incident.

The investigation is being led by the forensic intelligence unit to uncover the circumstances surrounding the delivery and ensure that anyone found culpable is brought to justice.
