Akwa Ibom to Receive 50 CNG Buses by 2026

Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo Eno announced that the state will soon take delivery of 50 compressed natural gas (CNG) buses, with 20 of them already having arrived at Lagos port. The governor made this announcement during a monthly prayer service held at the Government House chapel in Uyo.

He stated that the buses have already been fully paid for and are expected to be operational by September-October 2026. Additionally, Eno revealed plans for the Ibom Medical Village, which will consist of a 350-bed international medical center, with work set to commence on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

The governor also appealed to the Oro elders and stakeholders to promote peace and allow for international investment in the Ibom deep seaport project, which has faced delays and local opposition. He emphasized the importance of seizing opportunities for development in the region.
